Oakland Roots Sports Club Stadium

PGAdesign was hired to carry out landscape design for the Oakland Roots and Oakland Soul clubs at the Oakland Coliseum site.
PGAdesign designed the outdoor spaces surrounding the stadium to consist of four primary landscape spaces: the main entry, the Fun Field & Food Truck Pavilion, the Mosaic Club/VIP area, and additional surrounding support areas. The project also includes an urban tree farm which will supply trees to be planted in the surrounding Oakland community to mitigate the lack of tree canopy in the Coliseum neighborhood.
They selected materials that have simple installation, and that may be relocated if necessary in the future. Elements include pervious asphalt and concrete, colored asphalt coatings to reduce heat islands and also create dynamic spaces, fabric shade elements, and flexible furnishings that allow for diverse seating arrangements.
