College Preparatory School Master Plan

At College Preparatory School, one of Oakland’s exceptional private schools, located in a deep ravine in the Oakland hills, PGAdesign accommodated new program elements within a narrow, linear site enclosed by steep grades. These changes will enable the school to operate comfortably over the next 50 years. The master plan divides the site into four sub-areas: an entry/arrival and parking orchard, an arts court and amphitheater, a speaker’s court for “all-school” events, and a ball field and bleachers in a newly configured level area. The landscape and architecture are sustainably designed, demonstrating sustainable concepts and technologies.
