Fruitvale Land Crossing Bay Trail Connection

Location: Oakland, CA

PGAdesign collaborated with the City of Oakland and BCDC to craft a new waterfront trail connection, creating a seamless link between the existing pedestrian pathways at Fruitvale Avenue Bridge and Lancaster Street.

This initiative introduced a vital infill trail segment to the San Francisco Bay Trail, elegantly weaving through an abandoned railroad bridge and integrating with the current pathway to the Fruitvale Avenue vascular bridge. Complementing this, the Fruitvale Alive initiative has already established a pedestrian and bike path along Fruitvale Avenue, starting from the BART station and crossing over into Alameda.
