Galindo House and Garden

Location: Concord

Project Type:

Partners: Page & Turnbull for the City of Concord

The Galindo House and Gardens are the last remnant of Rancho del Diablo, which once encompassed nearly 18,000 acres in Contra Costa County. PGAdesign collaborated with the community and a firm of architects to establish priorities for preserving and restoring this historic farmhouse and grounds, honoring one of the founding families of Concord.
In addition to contributing to the Master Plan, PGAdesign identified heritage trees consistent with the era of significance, 1875 to 1912, following a major addition to the house. PGAdesign established landscape design guidelines for the creation of a public park and was also responsible for developing phased construction documents for the project.
