Mural at MacArthur Station

The family apartments of Mural comprise the first residential phase of the MacArthur BART Station development, establishing a high threshold for quality and sustainability for MacArthur Station.
The iconic geometric murals within the MacArthur BART station, as well as Oakland’s rich tradition of mural art, give Mural its name. Its design consists of a five-story residential building over a garage structure. The site plan enhances pedestrian access between the surrounding neighborhood and the BART station, in one instance creating a pedestrian walkway between Telegraph Avenue and the MacArthur Station sidewalk network.
Shared laundry and event spaces orient toward the main internal courtyard to enhance the connections between indoor and outdoor activities. Parents, for example, can watch their children while doing laundry or participating in indoor meetings.
