The mixed-use, mixed-income district of Brooklyn Basin, situated along Oakland’s waterfront, features 3,100 new homes, retail, and over 32 acres of parks and open space within 64 acres of an underutilized industrial zone. Thanks to over a decade of community activism and lobbying efforts, 465 homes are slated to house low- and very-low-income families and seniors.
Paseo Estero and Vista Estero, both 7-story apartment buildings, will provide 110 units each of affordable homes for seniors and families. PGAdesign was hired to complete landscape design plans for the surrounding streetscape as well as courtyard podium spaces and children’s play area.
