On Tuesday, December 12th, The Freemont City Council voted five to zero in favor of adopting the California Nursery Master Plan. The vote came three and a half years after the city hired PGAdesign to create the plan, during which time the public weighed in with ideas for the 20 acre park in the Niles district. According to Roger Ravenstad, Fremont’s Parks Planning and Design Manager, “the final plan strikes the perfect balance of promoting the site to the community and keeping the idyllic setting intact… we now have a shared vision for the site and can continue to work collaboratively on bringing the site to a standard we all know it deserves so that future generations of Fremont can share in the history and beauty of the site.”
