14th Avenue Street Improvements

PGAdesign worked with Ray’s Electric on a design/build contract for several blocks of 14th Avenue in Oakland. The team of consultants were tasked with calming traffic, improving the pedestrian experience, enhancing lighting, clarifying wayfinding signage, and implementing stormwater treatment. The project entailed understanding existing infrastructure and working closely with City staff. Where possible, the conditions around existing mature trees were improved by removing unnecessary paving that restricted their growth and threatened their health.
