Fook Lok West at Brooklyn Basin

The mixed-use, mixed-income district of Brooklyn Basin along Oakland’s waterfront features 3,100 new homes, retail space, and over 32 acres of parks and open spaces within 64 acres of an underutilized, mostly industrial zone.
Over a decade of community activism and lobbying efforts ultimately resulted in 465 homes that house low- and very-low-income seniors and families. Foon Lok West is part of that effort, providing 130 affordable housing units within Brooklyn Basin under the leadership of MidPen Housing. PGAdesign completed landscape design plans for the streetscape that weaves through the development, as well as courtyard podium spaces and children’s play areas with custom play elements.
