San Pablo Avenue Improvements

PGAdesign worked with DKS Engineers to rehabilitate seven blocks of Oakland’s historic San Pablo Avenue, which serves as a gateway into downtown Oakland. The project included an assessment of the existing street and median trees and creation of a plan to augment the existing planting. Coordination with other tree planting programs in West Oakland, and reference to previous planning work between PGAdesign and the West Oakland community, guided the plant selection. The planting design sought to unify the space connecting the eclectic architecture leading toward City Hall.
