The Pruneyard
Location: Campbell
Size: Existing 27-acre site
Partners: Lowney Architecture and Ellis Partners
As part of a major renovation to the 27-acre Pruneyard retail complex in Campbell, California, PGAdesign worked with Lowney Architecture to enhance the pedestrian experience through innovative site design measures, including a flush-curb plaza, a children’s zone with high play value sculptures and amenities, iconic planting, and a Mediterranean plant palette. By providing enhanced paving materials and richer planting, the design created a more inviting experience for visitors while increasing the amount of overall retail space.
The Pruneyard Doubletree Hotel, part of this mixed-use center, was also renovated. An awkward narrow court was transformed into an intimate terrace lounge, with improved paving, lighting, planting and site furnishings.
