As part of the recent seismic upgrading of the BART track system, PGA worked with BKF Engineers to completely reconstruct and upgrade the Ohlone Greenway from Berkeley to Richmond. PGA was retained to prepare construction documentation and implementation plans, including landscape demolition plans, and coordinated with the BART and the cities of Albany, Berkeley, El Cerrito, and Richmond to refine the design development drawings prepared by Gates & Associates. Funds were secured to add a small plaza and play area at Manila Avenue. A net climbing structure, seatwalls and plaza were inserted along the pedestrian trail that weaves its way beneath four miles of overhead BART track. PGA produced 60 sheets of planting plans and 60 sheets of irrigation.
